Dancing Dog Design Build consists of a core crew of dedicated and skilled professionals who take great pride in their work along with solid, long-term relationships with skilled subcontractors. This robust combination ensures seamless, worry-free delivery of your projects.
Our team works on a wide variety of large, medium, and small, new construction and remodel projects on the Mendocino coast in northern California—from Westport to Albion. Dancing Dog Design Build projects range from custom homes, second units, and artist studios to fences, decks, arbors, basement or garage conversions, additions, and kitchen and bathroom remodels.
With over 30 years of building experience, Cynthia Sharon is in charge of the Dancing Dog Design Build team.
Initially, Cynthia entered the trades to put herself through graduate school. Having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Studio Art from Smith College, she went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Marriage, Family Therapy, and Art Therapy from College of Notre Dame. After becoming a licensed therapist, however, she decided that her heart was in construction. She has continued working as a builder ever since.
Cynthia was the lead carpenter for Desmidt Builders in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1995 through 2004, lead carpenter for Master Builders from 2005 to 2008, and was also an instructor for the Building Education Center in Berkeley, California, where she taught a quarterly “hands-on” deck-building class, using local job sites for over seven years. The best part of this work was seeing students become empowered to tackle their own construction projects.
Since 2008, Cynthia has lived and worked on the Mendocino coast, bringing her client’s artistic vision to life.
