Jones-Sharon Casita.  This 800 SF strawbale House on 24 acres in Abiquiu New Mexico combines a southwest aesthetic with natural building techniques. The superinsulated strawbale house is beautifully located to capture amazing views from its south and west windows.  Green features include: photovoltaics, strawbale construction, earth plasters, rubble trench foundation, brick flooring, and multiple sustainable finishes.


Tasajara Zen Center.  Cynthia was job forman for the construction of the dining hall and dormatory at the Tasajara Zen Center in the Ventana Wilderness.  This project was complicated by a very remote location with limited access to supplies and laborers.  However, the beauty of the site and the fabulous food made the project very memorable.

Westport Studio

Westport art studio optimizes rugged ocean views with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. On a tight budget, the owner choose beautiful finishes and durable materials to stand up to the ocean environment.


The Michel Residence. This 2,800 square foot home with an octagonal great room is perched above the sand dunes at Ten Mile Beach on the Mendocino Coast. It includes 2,000 square feet of decking and is designed to provide a gracious living and entertaining environment. 


The Goss Residence.  This green remodel project on 400 acres overlooking the Napa Valley brings a modern sensibility to an environmental ethic. The project saved the bones of an old barn.  Green features include solar hot water, radiant floors, photovoltaics, tensile shade structure, passive cooling, and multiple sustainable finishes.


The Hummingbird House. A 130 square foot sustainably designed house on wheels.  This house was designed for a single woman who wanted to downsize her life.  It features solar power, a composting toilet, and green finishes throughout.  For more photos of the interior just click on the photo.
